October Favourites

Hi!

I had quite a few favourites throughout the month of October, so I thought I'd do a post on them. Before I get into it, can we talk about how it's now November?! It's actually kind of scary how fast this year has gone!

Beauty

My first favourite is the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in the shade 30. It's this gorgeous deep berry colour and I love it. It's so easy to apply and doesn't dry your lips out at all. It's definitely been my go to lipstick during October!

Rimmel Kate Lipstick 30 £5.49

My next favourite is the Makeup Revolution Eye Shadow Palette and it's the palette called Flawless. This palette is amazing! And wait for it - you get 32 shades for £8! What a bargain haha! The shades are so pretty and so wearable, you can create so many different looks with this palette. You get a few matte shades, but the majority of them are shimmery ones, which I love. I'd definitely recommend this!

Revolution Eye Shadow Palette Flawless  £8

My final beauty favourite is the Batiste Dry Shampoo Original. I've never really had dry shampoo, apart from when I was younger, I just used baby powder if I needed to. So I decided to try out this and it's been so useful this month! I don't really know what to say about this haha, it's just dry shampoo isn't it? Very handy to have if you don't already!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Original £2.99

Skincare

My first skincare favourite is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I've always used makeup wipes or baby wipes to take my makeup off, but they really irritate my skin and make me breakout so I picked this up, purely because it was only 99p in Tesco and a lot of people have raved about this. It's so quick and easy to use and it feels so gentle on my skin. It doesn't sting or irritate around your eyes either, which I love. I highly recommend this!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water 125ml £1.29

My final skincare favourite is the Simple Kind To Skin Vital Vitamin Day Cream. I really struggle with finding moisturizers that don't irritate my skin, but this one is a dream. It's aimed at people with sensitive skin and it works wonders on my skin. You should definitely try this if you have sensitive skin, or even if you don't!

Simple Day Cream £2.45

Books

My book favourites during October was the Divergent series by Veronica Roth.

Sixteen year-old Tris is forced to make a terrible choice. In a divided society where everyone must conform, Tris does not fit.

So she ventures out alone, determined to discover where she truly belongs. Shocked by her brutal new life, Tris can trust no one. And yet she is drawn to a boy who seems to both threaten and protect her.

The hardest choice lies ahead.  (Divergent blurb)

I've had the first two books, Divergent and Insurgent, since the beginning of the year but I put off reading them for the longest time because I wanted to wait until I got Allegiant. But I watched Divergent for the first time Sunday and I couldn't wait to read them because the film was so good. I picked Allegiant up on Monday and I've read all three of them in less than a week. THEY ARE AMAZING! I won't spoil anything, but the end of Allegiant - Oh. My. God. My. Heart.

Random

My random favourite is the Imperial Leather Fruit Salad Shower Gel. This smells amazing, it's so sweet and I love it! They have a few other scents in their sweets range too that I love - Sherbet Lemon and Marshmallow.

Imperial Leather Fruit Salad Shower Gel £0.85

So that's what I have loved throughout October, what have you been loving recently? Do you like any of the things I've mentioned? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to know :)

I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you for reading!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer £5.49

I got this a few months ago now, you may have seen it in a haul, but for some reason I've never actually reviewed it, even though I use it all the time (oh?) You probably all know that so many people have raved about this concealer and in my opinion, it is definitely worth the hype!

The concealer itself is a very smooth, creamy formula and it blends really easily. It is perfect for under the eyes, especially for me since I constantly look tired so it really makes me look awake and actually alive haha. It's also great for covering blemishes, I wouldn't say it's a high coverage concealer, but for the price it does it's job just fine.

Overall, I really love this concealer and will definitely be repurchasing! What is your favourite concealer, or would you agree this is one of the best?

Thank you for reading!

Sunday Reminders

Sundays. Blargh.

Sundays are a reminder that it's almost Monday and that means the start of a new week. I always feel a bit 'blargh' on Sundays and that is because I'm lazy and I want the weekend to last longer (never happens though!).

I guess this post is kind of a reminder for you and for me.

So, as this lovely quote says (I found it on Pinterest - you should all follow me: autumntaste, bit of self promo haha) this is your Sunday evening reminder that you can handle whatever this week throws at you.

Remember things are only temporary.

Every day is capable of being a fresh start.

You're not weak for asking for help.

You're not dumb for not knowing things.

When you feel like giving up, remember that you have made it this far, don't give up now.

It's okay not to be okay.

Love yourself, you're beautiful and capable and brave and significant, even when it feels like you're not.

Smile.

Thank you for reading, I hope you all have a great week!

Love,
Shannon

September Favourites

Hi!

I haven't done a monthly favourites since June (I think) and I've been loving a few things this month so I put two and two together and thought I'd share them with you.

Beauty

My first favourite is the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara. I got this a few months ago when Tesco was doing some thing on Twitter (can't remember what it was) and I got sent it for free. I tried it a few times and thought it was okay, but then I put it away and forgot I had it. But over the last month or so, I found it and I've been using it and this is actually so good! (why did I think it was only okay?) It's definitely more of a lengthening mascara than volume, but I really love it anyway!

I think it retails in stores for about £10 (don't hold me to that though haha!)

My next and final beauty favourite for this month is the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in the shade 107. You may have seen this in my August Haul and I'm pretty sure you've all seen it before anyway but holy crap-a doodles this is my favourite lipstick ever! When I first put it on, I do feel a little bit like Miranda Sings but once I get used to it, I love it haha.

TV Shows & Music

My TV Show favourite for this month is 'Life Unexpected'. I watched the first season a while back and loved it, but Netflix didn't have the second season up until about two weeks ago. The second season is the last season because for some reason it was cancelled back in 2011. It's about this teenager called Lux, who was given up when she was born and has spent her whole life in and out of foster care. She then finds her biological parents because she wants to become emancipated, but instead a judge decides to grant temporary custody of Lux to her real parents, Cate and Baze. Anyway, I'm nearly finished the second season and I absolutely love it! You should definitely check it out!

My first music favourite for this month is Troye Sivan's EP 'Wild'. I love Troye and I'm so proud of him and Wild is amazing! I think my favourite song is probably Fools, Ease or The Quiet. (I basically just love the whole EP haha) You should definitely have a listen!

My next music favourite is Demi Lovato's album 'Demi'. I've loved this album since it came out back in 2013 but I recently rediscovered it and it's one of my favourite albums of Demi's. I listened to it all the time when I was going through a really bad time and I just love it really. Also, I'm so excited for her new album, this Demi era is without a doubt one of my favourites!

So that's what I've been loving this month, what are some of your favourites from this month? Do you love any of the things I've mentioned? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to know :)

I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you for reading!

Country Park Walks

Hi!

Yesterday I went on a walk and I took some pictures (when do I not?) and I thought I'd share the pictures I took along the way and while I was there.

I took my book with me and read for a while whist I was there and it was so relaxing and is now one of my favourite things to do!

The leaves are slowly turning different colours, which means it's basically Autumn, eek!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you next time. Thank you for reading!

Plymouth | Summer Holidays 2015

Hi!

Last week I went to Plymouth for the weekend and I thought I'd share with you some of the pictures I took whilst I was there.

I took these at a place I don't really remember the name of but there was a stream thing (I'm so great at describing places aren't I?) and my younger sister had a little paddle and it was a really cute little area.

One evening we went to a small, quiet beach and we watched the sunset. I've never actually watched the sunset at a beach before and it was so beautiful, these pictures really don't do it justice.

I didn't take too many pictures, but I hope you liked this post anyway. Thank you for reading!

Note To Self

Dear Shannon,

This is for you. For the bad days, the days where you feel like everything has gone wrong and you just want to not exist for a while.

It's okay. And I know you're probably going to roll your eyes at that, because you think that is such a cliche thing to say to someone who's upset, but really, you're going to be okay.

You're good enough and you don't need anyone to tell you your self worth. Stop overthinking everything. Remind yourself that you're you and you are pretty damn wonderful. You're okay, you're safe and tomorrow is a new day, make it a good one. Better things are coming, please hang in there. You can do it.

Take care of yourself, you deserve the best.

Love,
Shannon

Friday Ramblings

Hi!

I honestly have no idea how this blog post is going to turn out as I have no set topic I want to talk about, but I guess I'm just going to ramble about things that have been on my mind recently. (this could end badly)

Growing up. I remember when I was younger and I couldn't wait to grow up, now I just want to be 5 years old again. Last night I was overthinking, as usual, and then it all of a sudden hit me that I'm going to be turning 16 next year. Also, today I finished year nine and it feels weird because in September I'm going to be in year ten. I feel like everything is moving too quickly, and there's nothing I can do to stop it.

I don't want to get too into it in this post, but these past few years have been difficult, to say the least. I struggle with anxiety and have done for the past two and a half years now. School is a massive cause of my anxiety and I really struggle with it. I don't know how I'm going to cope in year ten and that scares me. A lot.

A lot of people have said that year ten is the year that you start thinking and deciding what you want to do when you finish school and a few people I know already have an idea. Me? I have no clue. I mean I know that I want to travel when I leave school, but career wise? I don't feel like I'm good at anything and to be honest, I don't even want to think about it. Because that signalises that I'm growing up and I'm not ready for that.

At the same time as I feel like everything is moving too quickly, I still feel stuck. I feel like I'm stuck in this small bubble of existence and I don't quite know what the hell I'm doing or how to get out of it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that life is pretty messed up at the moment.

I'm sorry if this post is really messy and kind of negative, but sometimes you just need to let someone know how you're feeling and I guess you are this 'someone' for me.

Thank you for reading and I hope you're having a great day wherever you are!

June Favourites

Hi!

I didn't post last week (if anyone actually noticed) because I've been feeling really stressed out recently and yeah. Anyway, I thought I'd do a June Favourite's post because I've never actually done a montly favourites and I've been loving a few things this month, so I thought I'd share them with you.

Beauty

My first favourite is this nail varnish. It's from Avon and I can't remember what exact shade it is in, but it's a gorgeous mint green colour and I really love it.

My next favourite is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. It gives a lot of length and volume and really seperates my lashes. I got it in Superdrug and they were doing a deal, I think it was 2 for £10 so my mum and I both got one. I think it's the perfect every day mascara and I would definitely recommend it.

Books, TV shows and Music

My book favourite is 'Looking For Alaska' by John Green. I've read this book before but I recently re read it and I forgot how much I loved it. It's about a guy called Miles and he's bored of his life at home, so he decides to go to a boarding school in Alabama to 'seek his Great Perhaps'. There he meets Alaska and his whole world is turned around. Also, fun fact (not sure it's actually fun but whatever), the book is split in two parts: before and after, so that's cool too.

My next favourite is Orphan Black. I started it on Friday and I finished season 1 on Sunday and OH MY GOD. I have no words. It is literally amazing and if you're looking for a new TV show to watch, then Orphan Black is it. SERIOUSLY GO AND WATCH IT!

My music favourite this month is the album 'Like I Used To' by Lucy Rose. I recently re discovered this and fell in love with it all over again. It is a very acoustic type album and I always like to have it on in the background. If you like this type of music, then I would definitely recommend this.

Random

My final favourite this month is this candle. It's in the scent vanilla and it's from Wilkinsons. It literally smells amazing and I love it so much. I think it was either £1 or £2, so it's also very cheap!

So that's all my favourites for this month. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know in the comments what you've been loving this month. Thank you for reading!

Hever Castle

Hi!

I wasn't quite sure what to do for this blog post, but then I found these photo's I took from last month and I thought I'd share them with you.

A few weeks ago, in the May half-term, I went to Hever Castle with my mum, my brother and my two sisters. The weather was absolutely awful, it was pouring down with rain for most of the day (we were completely soaked when we got back home!). Despite the terrible weather, we still had a good day. The gardens were really beautiful, and the castle was lovely too. The quality of a few of the pictures aren't that great because my phone died whilst we were there and I had to use my sister's phone (her phone camera isn't the best). But I thought I'd share them anyway.

Thank you for reading and I hope you're having a lovely day!

Things I Want To Do This Summer

Hi!

So, I was reading Tanya Burr's blog and she did a post like this last month and today is a really lovely day and it's really starting to feel like Summer, so I thought why not do a blog post on the things I want to do this Summer? Wow, that sentence was really long.

Go for a walk in the mornings when it's nice. I think that taking a walk in the mornings would really start my day off and just be a good way to clear my mind before the rest of my day begins.

Read more books. Like I said in my last post, I really love reading but I find that I don't make enough time for it. So this summer I'm going to make time to read, even if it's only for ten minutes before I go to sleep.

Go outside more. I'm always inside on my laptop and phone and I really do need to be outside more. Even if it's just for walks, or a picnic with my family, it'll still get me outside instead of sitting in bed on Twitter, Netflix and YouTube all day. (oops haha)

Make a summer scrapbook. I think this would be a really fun thing to do since it could be like your little summer memory book. It would also be cool to look back on at the end of the summer or even at the end of the year and see what you were up to.

Take more pictures. Pictures are moments in time that have been frozen, preserved forever. You will never get the same moment again. The pictures that we take are our memories and they allow us to go back and experience the feelings we once had when we captured them split seconds in time, good or bad. I just think it's really important that you take a lot of pictures and I will definitely be doing that this summer. (wow, that got really deep)

So those are my plans so far. I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you want to do this Summer in the comments down below. Thank you for reading!

A Friendly Introduction

Hello, World! (or whoever is actually reading this!)

I've been wanting to start a blog for quite some time now, but I've always been too nervous. However, I've been recently reading a lot more blogs and I really like writing, so I figured why not?

I want this blog to be somewhere I can write about whatever I want. I want to feel as if someone, somewhere is actually reading about what I have to say and (maybe?) enjoying it.

Since this is my first post, I thought you might want to know a little about me.

My name is Shannon, I am fourteen years old and I live in the UK. I really like writing and reading, although I don't do neither nearly as much as I should. I watch YouTube and Netflix way too much, but what teenager doesn't? I'm obsessed with 'The Vampire Diaries' (that's all I'm going to say or this blog post will end up being way too long because I love the show so much, I could literally talk about it for hours on end!). I love watching the sunset. I want to travel the word someday. And lastly, I adore taking pictures, so I'll probably be posting lots of those too.

I guess that's all for now. Thank you for reading (if anyone actually has been reading) and let me know what you think in the comments below (if you want to, that is). I'll see you soon!

Love,
Shannon
